Session in English*
Keeping a competitive edge in the fast-evolving global market of plastics, while responding to the public requirements for greener industries, calls for an easy way to detect the most promising related technologies, as well as the monitoring of the main trends of its ecosystem. Recognising this, the European Patent Office has decided to support the debates with its expertise through its “Observatory for Patents and Technology” and to present during the Plastteknik Nordic event the results of works conducted in close collaboration with several national patent offices in Europe for some months. It will consist in a new dedicated technology platform called “Plastics of tomorrow” – a technology intelligence tool to map next-generation plastics -, as well as a new “plastic technology” filter in the “Deep Tech Finder” which will help identifying promising European deep tech startups active in the field of plastics as well as investors in this domain, and a new “Technology Intelligence Report” documenting and analysing the most recent trends, including recycling approaches and innovative solutions for recovering plastics from water.
