About us
Plasma pretreatment is the key enabler technology for microfine cleaning, surface activation and plasma coating of nearly all kinds of materials – from plastics, metals and glass to cardboard, textiles and composites. More and more conventional industrial pretreatment methods are being replaced by plasma technology in order to make processes more effective and environmentally friendly.
Innovation is pivotal to what we do. Every day we work on developing new and creative solutions to meet our customers’ challenges. Plasmatreat offers a broad spectrum of plasma systems and equipment for atmospheric plasma processes (Openair-Plasma®) and for low-pressure plasma technology (Aurora). With our own technology centers and sales teams at 34 different locations around the world, the Plasmatreat group has a global presence.

Floating planar mover simplifies transportation of sensitive workpieces XPlanar transports workpiece during plasma surface treatment process Jochen Stichling, Head of Design at Plasmatreat: “When it came to custom-programming mover travel routes there was no real alternative to XPlanar.” worldwide | germany PC Control 01 | 2020 | Plasmatreat GmbH, a Steinhagen, Germany, based manufacturer of plasma systems for high-efficiency surface treatment and environment-friendly production processes, unveiled a new plasma treatment unit at the K 2019 trade show. A key innovation with this treatment unit is that it uses XPlanar, a planar motor system from Beckhoff, to transport workpieces with precision and flexibility. XPlanar replaces prior systems used to move often sensitive workpieces such as PCBs and eliminates the need to install complex 6-axis robots and linear motors.

Testing
The Plasmatreat test ink online shop offers you three different test inks to choose from: ethanol, formamide and methanol. The test inks with 10ml or 30ml content can be ordered in small sets of 7 bottles or large sets of 22 bottles. Our test ink form is aimed exclusively at corporate customers. Delivery is made ex works against invoice and only to companies known to Plasmatreat or via a corresponding company certificate. The minimum order value depends on the ordering country. All prices are net, plus VAT and individual shipping costs.

PlasmaTalk
Every month at Plasmatreat we have seminars in various exciting areas. Such as How Openair-Plasma® works and changes surface properties. Solvent-free pretreatment options for a wide range of materials. Cost advantages with efficient and environmentally friendly production methods A look into the future: What is possible with plasma treatment? We and our customers have exciting questions during the course of the seminar and we are visited by several exciting guests every new seminar. We hope to see you at one of our seminars and wish you a warm welcome.

News
Our plasma surface treatment technology for activation, cleaning and coating is already the standard for many applications in the electronics industry. For example, Openair-Plasma® is already used to improve the adhesion of conformal coatings. However, we are always looking to develop new applications and improve existing technologies and systems. For example, our newest technology is called HydroPlasma. It can be used to remove inorganic contaminants, such as flux residues from metal surfaces. Secondly, we are introducing a dielectric barrier nanocoating that can be applied with our PlasmaPlus® coating process, especially on small electronic circuit boards for wearables. The huge advantage here is the ideal thermal conductivity due to its very thin properties. We are talking about a 800 -1200 nm coating that can be applied very selectively. Starting in mid-January, we will present a new application for our REDOX®-Tool. In addition to the inline reduction of oxide layers in the production process of power modules, we will now introduce this tool to produce lead frames. By reducing oxide layers from lead frames, we can achieve a throughput of up to 850 UPH. The tool will be available at our Singapore subsidiary for customer demonstration throughout the year. Finally, we are launching our latest jet technology, a particle-free jet, called PFA10, which can also be used in the semiconductor industry. With this jet, we can realize a copper oxide reduction process to achieve the strongest adhesion force for the hybrid bonding process.

HydroPlasma
In many high-tech industries, such as automotive, electronics, aerospace and medical, the cleanliness of surfaces is a critical success factor. Even the slightest contamination can impair adhesion in subsequent processes such as bonding, printing, painting or coating, thus jeopardizing the quality and reliability of the end product. While conventional cleaning methods often rely on solvents or complex wet chemical processes, Plasmatreat offers a reliable and efficient alternative with HydroPlasma. The innovative technology works completely without chemicals, using only compressed air, electricity and water. HydroPlasma sets new standards in industrial surface cleaning - environmentally friendly, reliable and economical. Most importantly, HydroPlasma enhances the effectiveness of proven Openair-Plasma technology and also enables the removal of inorganic residues, such as fingerprints, that have been difficult to remove in the past. This advanced solution offers companies a highly effective and resource-efficient alternative to conventional cleaning methods.
