About us
Polykemi is a Swedish family owned business founded in 1968 that has grown into Scandinavia´s largest developer & producer of world-class customer adapted thermoplastic compounds based on prime raw material. Our subsidiary Rondo Plast develop and manufacture high quality recycled raw material.
Polykemi Group offer unique and innovative solutions without compromising with the environment and we strive to do so better than anyone else in the world. One of our key strengths is that we are a local producer and a global supplier that can produce world class compounds in three continents.
Our headquarter is located in Ystad, Sweden and two fully owned subsidiaries in Kunshan, China and Gastonia, North Carolina USA. In addition, we have our own sales offices in Denmark, Germany and the Czech Republic and sales partners in numerous countries worldwide.

SCANLON - PA/ABS
Complete range for injection moulding Colour accuracy, reinforcement technology. SCANLON A is Polykemi’s product family of plastic compounds based on PA/ABS blends. SCANLON A is a construction material with good processability, aesthetics and impact strength. Polykemi offers a product range of SCANLON A for injection molding and extrusion. SCANLON A can, for example, be obtained with reinforcing agents, improved impact strength modified and metallizable. The materials are delivered with high color accuracy. PA/ABS is used for vehicle parts. The PA/ABS blend is a construction material that combines the benefits of partially crystalline Polyamide and amorphous ABS.

SCANBLEND P - PBT/ASA
Complete range for injection moulding Colour accuracy, reinforcement technology, heat resistance & antistatic grades. SCANBLEND P is Polykemi’s product family of plastic compounds based on PBT/ASA blends. SCANBLEND P is a construction material with excellent dimensional stability, heat resistance, and chemical resistance. Polykemi offers a product range of SCANBLEND P for injection molding. SCANBLEND P can be obtained with multiple reinforcing agents, increased heat resistance and high color accuracy. PBT/ASA is used with advantage in external vehicle parts. The PBT/ASA blend is a construction material that combines the benefits of crystalline PBT and amorphous ASA. PBT provides chemical resistance and mechanical performance while ASA provides weather resistance.

POLYlux - PC/PBT
Complete range for injection moulding & extrusion. Colour accuracy, multi reinforcement technology, heat resistance. POLYlux is Polykemi’s product family of plastic compounds based on a PC / PBT blend. POLYlux is a construction material with an excellent balance of stiffness and impact resistance in a wide temperature window. In addition, the product is weather resistant, heat resistant and chemical resistant. Polykemi offers a POLYlux product range for injection molding. For example, POLYlux can be obtained with reinforcing agents, improved flowability or increased heat resistance. PC / PBT is suitable for the production of exterior vehicle and white goods components. The PC / PBT blend is a construction material that combines the benefits of amorphous PC and crystalline PBT. PC is responsible for impact resistance at low temperatures and dimensional stability, while PBT provides chemical resistance and rigidity to the blend.

POLYblend - PC/ABS
Complete range of injection molding and extrusion. Dyeings, amplification technology, heat resistant, high gloss and halogen-free flame retardant products. POLYblend is a product family of PC/ABS blends. POLYblend is particularly useful for industrial materials. A unique combination of excellent mechanical and thermal properties allows application in a variety of industrial segments. POLYblend has superb processability and provides aesthetic surfaces. Polykemi offers a complete program of POLYblend for injection molding and extrusion. The products are available with many different variations, including with multiple reinforcing agents, high-gloss versions, with plating or flame-retardant varieties. The materials are used with advantage in automotive, household and electrical applications. PC/ABS blend is a thermoplastic alloy of PC and ABS components. ABS is a well-known and widely used thermoplastic. The material has reasonable mechanical and chemical properties, but its use can be limited by low heat resistance. It gives a glossy surface and has good pigmentation capabilities. Polycarbonate is a plastic with high impact resistance and heat resistance. However, this plastic raw material may be difficult to process, for example in injection molding. By mixing PC with ABS, a material with improved mechanical and heat-resistant properties is obtained as compared to pure ABS. The processability is better than pure PC.

SCANBLEND - PC/ASA
Complete range for injection moulding Colour accuracy, reinforcement technology, heat resistance & antistatic grades. SCANBLEND is a product family from Polykemi based on PC/ASA blends. SCANBLEND are highly weather resistant materials with high impact resistance and dimensional stability. Polykemi offers a complete program of SCANBLEND for injection molding. The products are available with, for example, multiple reinforcing agents, high gloss, heat resistance, and as antistatic grades. SCANBLEND is advantageously used in external applications in the automotive or electronics industry. PC/ASA is a thermoplastic alloy of PC and ASA components. ASA is an improvement of the well-known ABS plastic. Most properties from ABS are maintained, but ASA is significantly more UV resistant. Pure PC is a plastic with high impact resistance and excellent heat resistance. However, this plastic raw material may be difficult to process, for example in injection molding. PC/ASA has a great balance of mechanical and heat-resistant properties. PC/ASA is highly weather resistant.

Polykemi's complete product range of customized compounds
Our product range includes compounds based on thermoplastics. We offer existing materials based on long experience, but we also develop new materials. Our wide range of products gives us an excellent starting point to offer optimal customized compounds, based on specified technical and economical requirements, from any of our almost 20 materials families. A product range with almost 20 materials families The base polymers in our customized compounds range from the partial crystalline thermoplastics, such as PP, PBT, POM & PA6 and PA66, to the amorphous thermoplastics, such as ABS, ASA SAN PC, and PMMA. In addition to these, we also have a large number of BLENDS among our families of materials, which means materials containing more than one base polymer. We also have the environmentally friendly recycled materials families REPRO and REZYcom. REPRO is the standard range of compounds based on recycled plastic raw materials, and REZYcom is the customer-specific and custom-made compounds made with recycled plastic raw materials.

We help your company develop products with reduced carbon footprint
We can help companies make the optimal material choice with regard to current sustainability and CO2 footprint demands. This is also an opportunity to save time and weight. During 2020, we conducted a scientific study of the impact our materials leave on the climate. It shows that the choice of material has a significant role in the fight for the climate. The study resulted in a detailed calculation tool that gives our experts have the opportunity to calculate the CO2 footprint of our materials when they leave the production facility in Ystad. This gives our customers correct and necessary information to be able to calculate their own environmental impact on the produced component. This leads to them being able to achieve their environmental goals faster. Polykemi Group has extensive experience of both virgin and recycled materials. Now we also has the tools to simulate the effects of materials choices. Thanks to our solid knowledge, we can create materials that are optimized for climate, properties and costs. These are three parameters that go hand in hand when used correctly.
