In response to the growing demand for greener industries and the need to stay competitive in the rapidly evolving global plastics market, the European Patent Office (EPO) based in Munich, Germany, will launch a new set of innovative technology intelligence tools. These tools will be presented at Plastteknik Nordic, taking place on May 7-8 at Malmömässan, Sweden.
As part of its commitment to supporting industry debates with patent expertise, the European Patent Office will introduce a new platform to monitor technical developments in next-generation plastics and in plastics recycling.
In addition, the European Patent Office is enhancing its Deep Tech Finder with a new plastic technology filter, which will facilitate the identification of promising European startups in the plastics sector and connect them with investors interested in sustainable and innovative solutions. Complementing these advancements, the European Patent Office will also release a new “Technology Insight Report”, offering a comprehensive analysis of the latest trends in plastic innovation, including novel recycling approaches and breakthrough technologies for recovering plastics from water.
The goal of the project is to provide businesses, researchers, and policymakers with cutting-edge knowledge of emerging technologies, ensuring players have the necessary tools resources to drive sustainable innovation and achieve industrial leadership in plastics. This initiative has been developed in close collaboration with several national patent offices across Europe over the past months.
The European Patent Office invites media representatives and industry professionals to explore these new tools and gain valuable insights from its presentation at Plastteknik Nordic on May 7-8 at Malmömässan, Malmö, Sweden.
